In partnership with Sólides, the largest HRTech in Brazil, we opened SOLAB, our artificial intelligence research laboratory focusing on People Analytics. This is the first Brazilian partnership initiative between academy and industry to deal with people management problems using AI.
Between 26 and 28 April, 2021 our research group IRIS presented 7 scientific papers at the 23rd International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems. Three of these works competed for the best paper award, one of them won the best paper award and another won the best poster award.
In July 2019, I started postdoctoral investigations on Sentence Embeddings: Feature Learning for Text Representation at the Departament of Computer Science of the Universidad de Chile in Santiago, resulting from a partnership between PUC Minas, UFMG, Universidad de Chile and IRISA.
On October 17, 2017, in the PUC Hypothesis TV show, hosted by PUC TV Minas, our interview on "ConnectCity: a collaborative e-government approach to report city incidents" was presented. In the intertview, different social agents emphasize the importance of the tool in social mobilization.
On July 4, 2017, in the 6th Brazilian Workshop on Social Network Analysis and Mining, we presented the article "Characterizing crimes from Web". The workshop was helded, together with the 37th Congress of the Brazilian Computer Society (CSBC), in Mackenzie University, São Paulo, Brazil.
On October 10, 2016, in the PUC Comunity TV show, hosted by PUC TV Minas, our interview on "Information Technology for Social Demands" was presented. In the interview, we presented preliminary results of the partnership between PUC Minas and ChildFund Brasil.
On November 1, 2016, in the 15th IADIS International Conference on WWW/INTERNET, we presented the article "ConnectCity: a collaborative e-government approach to report city incidents". The conference was helded in Mannheim University, Mannheim, Germany.
On September 5, 2015, in the 22nd International Symposium on String Processing and Information Retrieval, we presented the article "Assessing the Efficiency of Suffix Stripping Approaches for Portuguese Stemming". The conference was helded in University College London, London, UK.
On August 20, 2015, in the 11th edition of the PUC Minas Magazine, our interview on "Data Mining: computational technique can help institutions in decision making and creation of assertive strategies" was presented. In the interview, we presented preliminary research results.
